Review: I saw this movie, September 8 at the Toronto Film Festival. It was honest and powerful portrayal of Mandela the man and his tribute strive for a better South African society took on his personal life. The film showed how his first marriage collapsed because his wife could not take his long absence from her and their four children while his role in the ANC and vice versa runtime-apartheid movement became more emphasis his . Although he explained to her that he did this for all of South Africaâ black people and children growing up in the oppressed situation, their own children become strong conviction for the greater good. He married a woman he really loved, Winnie, and had two daughters with her. Even short and Winnie Mandela fought for the cause, this family eventually become too, as he continued his campaign of the ANC and it turned out that more drastic ways to send messages to South Africa. As a result of his arrest and conviction of those functions, he spent 27 Ari away from his young family. There were some really heartbreaking moments and the actor who played Mandela, Idris Elba, compelling shared doubts and regrets that Mandela was not being able to be with his wife, his children and all those years. The film showed this personal side of Mandela story well. It skipped the facts are well known and readily available. This was not the focus of the film. Now you know the great sacrifice he endured to achieve freedom he longs for all black South Africans, it made me even more grateful for've seen a small part of the Mandela story. I was part of the Free Mandela movement of the late 80's and I saw him speak when he came to Toronto in 1990. See this picture, with its inclusion of live footage from the time, brought back memories of emotions at times, boycotting South African goods campaign, joy when Mandela was finally freed, and feel goosebumps nutritional , r he spoke. He was, and is, one of the most inspiring, great leaders of our time. I recommend everyone go see this movie when it is widely released. It will leave you wanting to know more about Mandela (I read his autobiography of the same name and the film), and maybe even go out and do your part to make this a better society, too, though a small donation. As Mandela says in the film, Alone we have no power, together, we have the power to change the world.
